Cycle Gear Size Chart
Find Your Best Fit Before You Ride
The Cycle Gear Size Chart is here to help you compare common motorcycle gear measurements before choosing a size. Use the tables below as a starting point for helmets and riding jackets, then check the product page for any item-specific sizing notes before ordering.
Motorcycle gear should feel secure without limiting movement. A good fit can vary by product type, brand, riding position, and personal preference, so measure carefully and review the details for the exact item you plan to buy.
Motorcycle Helmet Size Chart
Measure around the widest part of your head, about one inch above your eyebrows and around the back of your head. Keep the tape level and snug, then compare your measurement with the chart below.
| Size | Hat Size | Head Circumference (cm) | Head Circumference (in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 6 3/4 - 6 7/8 | 54-55 | 21 1/4 - 21 5/8 |
| S | 6 7/8 - 7 | 55-56 | 21 5/8 - 22 |
| M | 7 1/8 - 7 1/4 | 57-58 | 22 1/2 - 22 7/8 |
| L | 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 | 58-59 | 22 7/8 - 23 1/4 |
| XL | 7 1/2 - 7 5/8 | 60-61 | 23 5/8 - 24 |
| 2XL | 7 3/4 - 7 7/8 | 62-63 | 24 3/8 - 24 3/4 |
| 3XL | 8 - 8 1/8 | 64-65 | 25 1/4 - 25 5/8 |
If your head measurement falls between two helmet sizes, start by trying the larger size first, then confirm that the helmet still fits snugly and securely.

How to Choose Your Size
Start With Your Measurements
Do not rely only on your usual clothing size. Measure your head, chest, and any listed product measurements before selecting a size.
Check the Product Page
Some helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, and riding gear may use a product-specific chart. Always review the product details before ordering.
Think About Riding Position
Motorcycle gear should fit while you are in a riding posture, not just while standing straight. Make sure sleeves, shoulders, and the torso feel comfortable when your arms are forward.
Allow Room for Layers
If you ride in cooler weather or wear protective layers underneath, choose a size that gives you enough room without feeling loose or bulky.
Measuring Tips
- Use a soft measuring tape for the most accurate result.
- Keep the tape flat against your body without pulling it too tight.
- For helmets, measure above the eyebrows and around the widest part of the head.
- For jackets, measure the chest around the fullest part while wearing a light base layer.
- Measure more than once and use the most consistent result.
- Ask another person to help if the measurement is hard to take accurately on your own.
Fit Notes & Between-Sizes Advice
If you are between sizes, think about how the gear will be used. For helmets, the fit should feel snug all around without painful pressure points. For jackets, size up if you want more room for layering, and consider the smaller size only if you prefer a closer fit and still have full riding movement.
Protective gear should not slide around, bunch uncomfortably, or restrict your ability to ride. If the product page gives specific fit guidance, follow that product-level recommendation first.
