The magic of weight distributing hitches is the "distribution" of tongue weight from the trailer to the back axle of the tow vehicle and the axle(s) of the trailer - helping to keep weight on the front axle of the tow vehicle. This provides a safer and smoother ride with reduced sway caused by wind or passing vehicles. • Some sleeve locking couplers will not work with this hitch due to the spacing between the towball and the lead screw
